✨ Pause before deciding Rushing often creates more confusion, not less. Give yourself permission to slow down.
✨ Notice how you feel over time Do you feel safe, respected, and understood? Or anxious, dismissed, and small? Your nervous system is a reliable compass.
✨ Look at what’s real, not potential What are you consistently experiencing, reciprocity, or carrying most of the weight?
✨ Pay attention to patterns One-off mistakes happen. Repeated ruptures tell a deeper story.
✨ Be honest about what keeps you there Is it love, guilt, fear, financial ties, or hope they’ll change? Each carries a different weight.
✨ Have the difficult conversations How someone handles discomfort, with defensiveness, avoidance, or openness, reveals more than words.
✨ Visualise the future If nothing changes, could you accept this relationship as it is in 12 months… or 5 years?
✨ Separate intensity from compatibility Emotional highs and lows don’t equal depth. Pain isn’t proof of love.
✨ Let discomfort be your teacher It’s okay to feel afraid or sad. Grief can come with either choice. That doesn’t mean you’re wrong, it means you’re human.
